2022 Annual TLC Report Card Released
The Transportation and Land Use Connection (TLC) program supports planning projects that positively impact our region and implement the Wasatch Choice Vision. Key to achieving our shared Vision to provide transportation choices, support housing options, preserve open space, and link economic development with transportation and housing decisions is a centers-based approach to building our neighborhoods. Centers come in various shapes and sizes and share traits like promoting walkability and providing multiple uses (residential, commercial, etc.).
Communities throughout the Wasatch Front are advancing centers-based planning to tackle challenges and capitalize on opportunities related to transportation, land use, housing, and growth. In fact, throughout the eight-year history of the Transportation and Land Use Connection (TLC) program, 86% of funded projects for small areas or corridors directly planned for centers identified in our shared Wasatch Choice Vision. To learn more about the program, its projects, and its history, read our recently released 2022 TLC Report Card.
The TLC program provides planning technical assistance to local communities to achieve their goals and plan for their futures. It also facilitates cross-jurisdictional efforts to achieve joint and regional goals.
TLC program is a partnership between the Wasatch Front Regional Council (WFRC), Salt Lake County Regional Development, Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT), and Utah Transit Authority (UTA).
Is your community interested in technical assistance to plan for growth and support enhanced mobility, better air quality, and improved economic opportunities? The TLC program accepts applications for funding each fall. Visit wfrc.org/TLC to learn more, or email Megan Padjen at mpadjen@wfrc.org.
