The Wasatch Front Regional Council (WFRC) is responsible for the air quality conformity of its transportation plans and programs. This means that estimates of near-and long-term emissions from vehicles must not exceed limits that the Utah Division of Air Quality (DAQ) has determined necessary to meet federal air quality standards. Vehicles are one of three major sources of air pollution. The other two sources of air pollution are know as point sources (large industry) and area sources (residences, small businesses, miscellaneous). The links in the “Helpful Links and Downloads” section are useful data sources regarding emission sources and pollution levels.
