As part of the Regional Growth Committee (RGC), technical advisory committees (TAC) have been established and function in the Ogden-Layton and Salt Lake City-West Valley City urbanized areas. Since the Salt Lake City-West Valley City TAC and the Salt Lake County Cooperative Plan group both dealt with regional issues in Salt Lake County, the two merged in 2015 and the committee was ultimately renamed Plan TAC. The purpose of the committees is to serve as technical advisory bodies to the RGC regarding the Regional Transportation Plan (RTP), regional growth strategies, and other growth-related issues. The TAC membership is drawn from a pool of the region’s professional planners and others with technical expertise in their respective disciplines. They provide technical advice and input to the transportation planning process and other planning issues.
